Summary
Strange walks down to Christine’s wedding after waking up from one of his more thrilling dreams. In a single day, he comes to the conclusion that the vision he had in his dream may be symbolic of something larger. Alongside Doctor Strange, America Chavez, the newest character to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, takes on a challenge that no one has ever considered.
Review
Script Analysis
The writing does give us a lot to chew on. The idea of the multiverse is new and has yet to be fully explored. However, it has just been more interesting than time travel. America Chavez is a new figure, and no one really knows what she can do. When you add Elizabeth Olsen’s stunning Scarlet Witch to this, there is a lot to make a good gomovies.
Star Performance
Benedict Cumberbatch works well. Even with the grays, the performer can portray two roles convincingly. He’s great at expressing the pain of accepting his life’s traumas. Elizabeth Olsen is the most expressive MCU actor. Even as the villain, her gaze shows her agony. She’s great at acting both emotionally and devilishly. Olsen has a great tale and a deep character that makes you care. Benedict Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, deserves his newfound pride. Did I spoil it? You already knew.
The chaos around Xochitl Gomez has left her crazy. She outperforms Cumberbatch in a scenario, showing her confidence. Gomez’s odd manner of expressing “Spider-Man shoots web from his beautiful as” makes you chuckle whenever someone asks. Like everyone else, Rachel McAdams portrays Christine differently and well.
Direction, Music
Sam Raimi’s magic comes from unexpected moments and creates a fearful atmosphere. In one episode, Doctor Strange employs musical notes as weapons to fight his enemies—a lovely scene with Danny Elfman’s eerie music.
While reducing the length, the filmmaker destroys the film’s effect. The audience is in tune with the globe, so no basis is needed. That doesn’t guarantee the repelis movie will follow all the handy paths or have the characters in the right place at the right moment. Giving Doctor Strange a supporting role in his film while Wanda runs the show dilutes the spin-off’s effort.
The set design is Marvel-worthy. Kamar Taj, the calmest area, is now a fortification. In another world, New York has flower-covered buildings and food ball pizzas. It’s great. I enjoy Chavez’s powers since they’re new.
Final Words
Despite being a completely unexpected offering, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is amusing but has elements of mediocrity. You should see it, but you shouldn’t have high expectations. It would be best to yell even louder when the seasoned Marvel actors finally appear.
